95 Express Lanes signs on to sponsor Stafford Hospital Spring Fever 5K

Stafford Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce 95 Express Lanes operated by Transurban as the Presenting Sponsor of this year’s Stafford Hospital Spring Fever 5K race.

The race will be held rain or shine on Saturday, April 6 on the Stafford Hospital campus; and is part of the Coldwell Banker Elite Grand Prix, a series of 12 races that take place in the greater Fredericksburg region, and the Stafford Race Series, a set of three races to promote community engagement and wellness activities in the county.

“We are very appreciative of Transurban’s support of this community effort, as they have done in other communities in which they are doing great work,” said Xavier R. Richardson, President of the Stafford Hospital Foundation.

Thanks to the generosity of 95 Express Lanes operated by Transurban, and of additional sponsors and donors, the Stafford Hospital Foundation supports Mary Washington Healthcare’s mission to improve the health of the people in the communities we serve. Since the inception of the Stafford Hospital 5K race ten years ago, the event has raised more than $193,000 to support operational, program, training, and equipment needs of Stafford Hospital.

In addition, through the Stafford Hospital Foundation’s Community Benefit Fund, over $1.5 million has been given to further aid local access to health and wellness services and information. The Foundation has awarded grants to 14 organizations throughout Stafford County, including Stafford Junction, ACTS, and Stafford County Department of Social Services.

In February 2019, Stafford Hospital celebrated ten years of service. Since the hospital opened in 2009, Stafford Hospital has offered quality healthcare to its patients, improved access to care, and grown through the expansion of services and state-of-the-art equipment.

These leading physicians are redefining the patient experience with same-day appointments, direct availability, unhurried visits, and deeply personalized care:

After almost 40 years in practice, Manassas-based Internist John Cary, MD’s change to concierge medicine enabled focused attention for each individual, and the launch of his innovative diet program for those with type 2 diabetes. “The goal is to promote enough weight loss to reach an acceptable A1C of 6% with no medication,” he explains. “Achieving that can take several months of very close follow up. As I tell my patients, we are in this together.”

Jay Tyroler, MD considers his patients quite literally as family. “I believe there’s nothing more honorable than helping patients when they’re sick, or scared, or feeling vulnerable, and I care for them exactly as I would my loved ones.” Whether for a specialist referral, urgent health issue or ongoing follow up, “My patients know I’m always just a phone call away.”
