HAYMARKET — Police are on the scene of a reported machete attack near Haymarket.
Police were called about noon today for a report of a street fight between two men in the 10500 block of Turning Grass Way, just off Somerset Crossing Drive.
Initial reports indicate one man used a machete to attack the other man, and both people involved in the fight suffered cuts.
One person is in custody and an investigation is still ongoing, said Prince William police spokeswoman Renee Carr.
At least one person is being treated for minor injuries, she adds.

On March 25 at 12:00PM, officers responded to the 10000 block of Turning Grass Way in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a fight in progress.
Officers arrived on scene and observed the accused?wielding a machete in the direction of the victim, a 34-year-old man, while yelling profanities.
The officers separated the two parties without further incident. The investigation revealed the accused, the victim’s neighbor, entered the victim’s garage and confronted him with a machete unprovoked.
A struggle ensued and the victim was chased by the accused until contact with the police was made. Both the victim and the accused reported minor injuries. The accused was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Waleed Ahmad FAHM, was arrested.
