STAFFORD — (Press Release) A suspect was arrested early Monday morning by deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office after discharging a weapon inside a residence in the southern end of the county.
On January 7, 2019, Deputies Wright, Forman, and McWaters responded to a medical emergency at a residence located on the 200 block of Spring Park Lane. Upon arrival, they learned there was a male subject tearing up his room on the third floor of the residence. They could hear him screaming.
When deputies located the suspect, he was in a paranoid and agitated state. He told deputies he had recently used methamphetamine. The suspect’s bedroom was in complete disarray and a firearm was located behind the bedroom door. Deputies observed bullet holes in the ceiling. Nearby residents confirmed hearing the sound of gunshots coming from the house.
The suspect was identified as Dominick Serago, 31, of Fredericksburg. He was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
The suspect was subsequently incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. He is charged with reckless handling of a firearm, discharge of a weapon in an occupied dwelling, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm while in possession of drugs.
