WOODBRIDGE — (Press Release) Shooting Investigation – On November 17 at 9:48PM, officers responded to the Landings at Markhams Grant Apartments located in the 15700 block of Tassia Ln in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shooting. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 20-year-old man, was attending a party at an apartment in the above area.
During the party, the accused, who resides directly below the apartment, engaged in a verbal altercation with the victim. At one point, the victim left the party and went to the other apartment where he proceeded to pound on the door.
The victim was eventually convinced to return to the party by friends. As the victim was walking up the staircase, the accused approached him and shot the victim in the lower body. The accused returned to his apartment and informed a family member to call police.
When officers arrived, the accused initially refused to exit his apartment. After a short time, the accused exited the apartment and was taken into custody without further incident.
The victim was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries and is expected to survive. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as David Alvin TYNES Jr., was arrested.
