WOODBRIDGE — Two people were killed in a crash that occurred in front of Gar-Field High School in Woodbridge on Monday night.
We’re told the two male victims were pronounced dead on the scene. A third victim was taken to an area hospital where their condition remains unknown.
Rescue crews were called to the crash at 8:34 p.m. at the intersection of Smoketown Road and Nazarene Way.
The car crossed over into oncoming traffic and struck a power pole. An OmniRide bus swerved to avoid the crash, we’re told.
Power was briefly knocked out in the area of the crash but was restored about 10 p.m.
An empty car seat was seen laying on the street near the wreckage, however, no children were involved in the crash.
The OmniRide bus was returning to the garage and no passengers were on board.
“OmniRide expresses its deepest condolences to the family members of those involved in the accident,” said OmniRide Executive Director Bob Schneider.
Prince William police tell us the crash is under investigation.
