OCCOQUAN— Bann Thai Old Town opened its doors on September 9 in the Occoquan. This new Thai restaurant offers dine-in, carry-out, catering, and delivery for a five-mile radius from the restaurant.
This is owner Nalinrat Pienthumdee’s first restaurant. She partnered with a very experienced chef to bring authentic Thai food to Northern Virginia. Chef Tang has over ten years of experience as a chef.
“Every dish he prepares he wants people to have a great experience about the food,” Pienthumdee said about Chef Tang.
Bann Thai Old Town is open seven days a week. Their hours are 11 a.m. through 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. through 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Their signature dishes include Pad Thai, a rice noodle based dish, and Kapraw, a Thai basil-based dish. Pienthumdee also said Panang Curry, a red Thai curry with a peanutty flavor, is a crowd favorite at their restaurant. Their beverage menu includes Thai ice tea, thai ice coffee, coconut juice and green Thai ice tea.
Pienthumdee is excited to bring authentic Thai to local diners without the commute to get it.
“We serve authentic Thai food. Some people have to go all the way into the city to eat good Thai food. If you’re in the area, come out and try us and you won’t be disappointed,” she said.
Pienthumdee chose the Occoquan for her restaurant because of the town’s warm vibe.
“I love the Town of Occoquan. When I come in visiting, it had a warm feeling,” Pienthumdee said.
The restaurant does not have dedicated parking. Guests can expect to use street parking or one of the town’s public parking lots.
The restaurant is located at 416 Mill Street. To learn more, visit their Facebook page.
