MANASSAS — The system was restored Monday afternoon after t went down on Friday, leaving customers who rely on paying their electric bill online in the dark. Those who couldn’t pay their bills online, and called NOVEC’s call center were placed into an automated queue which allowed them to pay their bills over the phone with a service fee.
NOVEC spokeswoman Priscilla Knight tells us:
“The fee for EZ-Pay is a payment-convenience fee charged by our third-party electronic payment processor, Kubra. NOVEC does not have a mechanism to delete the fee, but we did offer to refund the fee to enrolled e-Billing customers who could not make their payment when e-Billing was not accessible.”
NOVEC provides electrical service to more than 167,000 customers in Prince William, Stafford, and Fauquier counties, and Manassas Park City.
