After less than a year in business, Taps-N-Apps closes

MANASSAS — Taps-N-Apps has closed its doors in Manassas.

The eatery formerly known as Mackey’s Pub underwent a renovation last fall, kicked out all of the cigar-smoking regulars, and redid the kitchen and interior of the restaurant in an effort to attract new customers.

Taps-N-Apps owner John Csoka could not be reached for comment.

The restaurant specialized in serving draft beer and appetizers, or “small” plates in lieu of more hearty dishes.

Csoka renovated the kitchen and the inside of the restaurant. With a newly renovated upstairs Csoka called the Atlas Club, he had planned to host private parties and events, he told us in January.

The building at 9412 Main Street that the restaurant is located in is owned by Najia and Mohammed Nazim, of Centreville, and was built in 1910.

The closure marks the latest in an ever-changing dining scene in Downtown Manassas. Sinistral Brewing Company across the street from Tapps-N-Apps recently opened after spending thousands for brewing equipment it never received, and the city’s first rooftop restaurant is planned on nearby Battle Street.
