James Joseph Steffanic, age 80, of Haymarket, VA passed away Friday, October 27, 2017 at the Novant Health Prince William Medical Center.
He was born on October 24, 1937 in Minersville, PA the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Purcell) Steffanic. He served in the US Air Force. He worked at Shenandoah’s Pride for over 20 years. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tending his vegetable garden. In retirement, he and his wife traveled coast to coast and from Mexico to Alaska in their RV. He enjoyed spending time with family! He was Very caring and giving!
Survivors include his loving wife, Elizabeth Swann Steffanic; two daughters, Deborah A. Bibee of Warrenton, VA, Kathryn S. Sooksanguan and husband Tarney of Culpeper, VA; two sisters, Betty Schwoyer of Shoemakersville, PA, Claire Jester of Denver, PA; five grandchildren, Amanda Rector, Allen Leon Rector III, Taylor Kay Bibee, Cassidy Sooksanguan, Tarney Sooksanguan, Jr; two great grandchildren, Elijah Rector, Sierra Selway.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00PM Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM Monday, November 6, 2017 at All Saints Catholic Church, 9300 Stonewall Road, Manassas, VA. Burial will follow at Quantico National Cemetery.

On November 22, two individuals were arrested in connection to a felony homicide investigation involving the neglect of a vulnerable adult, which began after a call to a home in Woodbridge earlier this year.
