Our free spirit son and brother Samson Joel Sims is now soaring with the Angels. Born in Florida on December 18, 1982 Samson left this world on Saturday, September 23, 2017.
Known as a jack of all trades, he loved to laugh and was never burdened by life’s cares. He loved to draw. Japanese Anime was perhaps his favorite form of art. He had a deep appreciation for the Japanese culture. An eclectic man who was a believer in social justice, he was also an amateur historian.
Samson lived in Georgia and Germany before moving to Virginia where he stayed. He graduated from Woodbridge Senior High School in 2002 and worked in security for Contemporary Services Corporation. He was an incredible uncle who was loved and treasured by his nieces and nephews.
He was close to his mom and was, as his sisters lovingly said, a “Momma’s Boy”.
Samson is survived by his mother Gloria J. Sims, his sisters Sherinda Robinson and Jennifer McCluney (Lance) and his brother John Sims. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews as well as many friends. He will be missed by all knew him.
There will be a visitation at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, 13318 Occoquan Road in Woodbridge, VA on Saturday, September 30 from 10 – 11 am when a celebration of life service will then take place. Interment is private.
Samson donated his organs so that others may live. Please, in lieu of flowers make a donation in Samson’s name to the Washington Regional Transplant Community at BeADonor.org
