"Linda Louise Garcia-Cuesta age 68, peacefully passed away on September 20, 2017 in Opelika, Alabama surrounded by her children and husband.
She was born in Mt. Vernon, NY on October 1,1948, the daughter of the late Alphonse Perrotta and Margaret Wardiero. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her husband Javier Garcia Cuesta; her two children Carlos Garcia Cuesta and Cristina Cuesta-Hammad; son-in-law Raed Hammad; daughter-in-law Virginia Gonzalez-Cuesta; brother John Joseph Perrotta; sister-in-law Angela Mary Perrotta; brother-in-law Francisco Garcia Cuesta; 9 grandchildren; and many loving friends and extended family.
Linda’s life journey took her to meet the love of her life in Spain and accompany him to 5 different countries and 4 separate continents through Team Handball. Her profession as a teacher/educator was the foundation to her children pursuing their passion for learning and excelling. She had the gift of speaking 4 different languages and was a true citizen of the world with love for all. Linda was known for her generosity, patience, unconditional love, and dedication to her family. There was absolutely nothing she wouldn’t do for the happiness of her grandchildren.
Linda was the backbone and support for her husband, family and friends. She gave everyone the gift of her time, her advice, her conversation, and her genuine care for those she met. Linda was always putting the needs of others before her own. She touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Her radiant smile and beautiful soul will never be forgotten. We will carry her legacy in our hearts and prayers forever.
On Sunday, September 24, 2017 the family will receive guests at 9:30 for an hour prior to the service. Her celebration of life will begin at 10:30 AM at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA. The burial will take place at Stonewall Memory Gardens following the service.

A Manassas man was sentenced today to 18 years in prison for providing drugs and alcohol to a child in exchange for sex acts and possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) depicting the same victim as well as other children.
According to court documents, Olajide Benjamin Ayilaran, 24, met a 14-year-old girl during the summer of 2023 and began communicating with the victim via iMessage. In the messages, Ayilaran offered to provide the victim drugs, alcohol, and nicotine products in exchange for sex acts. Between at least Nov. 21, 2023, and Feb. 29, 2024, Ayilaran met the victim nine times, usually in the morning before the victim went to school, to exchange the products for sexual acts. Ayilaran would wait for the victim in his car in a nearby park. When the victim arrived, he gave her the drugs and alcohol and then had the victim perform sex acts on him in the car.
