Peggy Jean Davis who was born on January 25, 1940 to Brent and Gertude Fulcher, who predeceased her, passed away on July 19, 2017. She was married for 53 years to the late Gordon Robert Davis. She was very close to her sister’s Mary and Betty who survive her. Her sister’s Doris and Virginia also survive her as does her brother James. Her sister Joyce and brothers Robert, Brent, Johnny and Paul all predeceased her.
She loved to cook and enjoyed doing the grocery shopping prior to preparing a fantastic meal. Mostly a loner, Peggy loved reading the newspaper every day and working on puzzles. She collected coupons and loved saving money.
Peggy and Gordon went to Niagara Falls for their honeymoon. That was the only time that she left the great state of Virginia. She always preferred to be home. When she was younger she was on a bowling team and enjoyed that.
Mary and Sissy (as Mary always called her) were very close. Mary would pick up Sissy and they would go shopping and run errands together. Sissy would often spend weeks at a time at Mary’s house.
Peggy is missed by her family and friends, especially her sister’s Mary and Betty.
There will be a graveside service for Peggy on Friday, August 4th at Quantico National Cemetery at 11 am where she will be reunited with her beloved Gordon.
