Francis (Frank) G. McBride of Nokesville, VA passed away peacefully on July 17, 2017 (age 71) after a valiant battle against cancer. Born on June 17, 1946 to William J McBride, Jr. and Magdalena (Lee) Nuber McBride both of whom predeceased him.After receiving his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University (1968) he then received his J D degree from the University of Virginia in 1971. In Northern Virginia and The District of Columbia he practiced law for over 27 years. He was a member of the bars of the Supreme Court for United States and the Fourth Circuit of the US Court of Appeals. He specialized in juvenile, commercial litigation and landlord/tenant law.
He had a great involvement with the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). His involvement with SCCA was as Instructor and Crew Chief for multiple race teams. Frank assisted with the SCCA Summit Point drivers’ school for many years and served as the DC Region’s counsel for several decades.
Mr McBride is survived by his brothers William (Charla) of Acworth GA and Stephen of Berkley, CA. Also surviving are his nephews Michael (Dawn) and Robert (Amy) and niece Victoria as well as 6 great nieces and nephews. In addition his cousins James McBride and Margaret (Peggy) Walsh.
Celebrations of Life will be held in Virginia and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at later dates. At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
