Richard Edward Michell

Richard Edward Michell, age 75 of Woodbridge, VA, died peacefully on July 11, 2017 after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his loving friends and family. He was the beloved husband of 43 years to Peggy Michell. Loving father of Deana Henry (Donald) and Bonnie Ewalt (Scott). Cherished grandfather of Luke Henry, Julianna Henry, Dominic Ewalt, Grace Ewalt and Michael Ewalt. Dear brother of Nancy Pauls (Mark), John Michell (Sherry), Christopher Michell, and Paul Michell (Donna). He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Olivia Henry and a brother Mark Michell.

Richard was retired from the Environmental Protection Agency, where he dedicated his life’s work as a plant pathologist. Rich enjoyed gardening, fishing, bowling, baseball, and caring for turtles. While he enjoyed many hobbies, his love and loyalty to his family were always paramount.

The family will receive friends at the Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Boulevard, Dale City, VA 22193 on Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 21, 2017 with the time to be determined at Holy Family Catholic Church, 14160 Ferndale Road, Dale City, VA 22193.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
