Francis Martin Davidson, age 64, of Manassas, Virginia, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 at Prince William Hospital after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He was born on March 24, 1953, in Mariemont, Ohio, son of Francis J. and Elizabeth A. (Kerrivan) Davidson. He is survived by his wife Jo Anne, his 3 children Melissa Mae, Michael Joseph, Patrick Nicholas, as well as his brother Philip, sister Elizabeth, and sisters-in-law Mary Landolt and Irene Davidson. Frank spent his childhood and teenage years in Salem, Massachusetts, before moving to Brookeville, Maryland; New Carrollton, Maryland; and Manassas, Virginia. His career included the US ARMY, IBM, and the CIA.
Frank was a people person–anyone he came in contact with, he would ask: "where were you born?" Mostly because he loved hearing about what state or country they came from but also their culture. Always the amateur zoologist since childhood, he continued to enjoy bird and animal watching through his window at the nursing home. An avid historian, Frank loved the history of WWII. Frank especially liked studying the Civil War which was one of the main reasons he moved to Manassas. Frank was a popular person at the Gainesville Health and Rehab nursing home – many Nurses/CNA’s enjoyed taking care of him and always remarked that he was so nice, always said "thank you," and was one of their favorites.
Frank was a true soldier–he fought his illness till the end.
