Wendy Weaver Pinhey, beloved wife of David Pinhey has passed away. Born on June 10, 1943 to Col. John Weaver and Margaret Esch Weaver, Wendy was a loving daughter and cherished wife. She married the love of her life David on July 17, 1963 at the Old Post Chapel at Fort Myer. Together they had a life full of adventure and fun.
She attended Muskingum University in New Concord, Ohio and spent 35 years teaching English first for the state of Ohio then for West Springfield High School, a part of the Fairfax County School System. Wendy and David resided in McLean from 1969 until 1974 when they moved to Annandale where they lived until moving to Westminster of Lake Ridge in 2014.
Wendy had a full life. She loved to travel which she and David did often. She was an artist who was a member of the McLean Project of Arts. She also had a studio in McLean where she enjoyed spending time painting.
She would run 6 miles a day then come home and go swimming with David for an hour. She loved lifting free weights and doing yoga. She would design and make her own clothing and jewelry. She also enjoyed creating beautiful flower arrangements. Wendy was a good person who volunteered in her spare time teaching disabled kids how to swim and float. It was just one of the many things she was passionate about.
Wendy was a very special lady who will be missed by all who knew her.
