Sheryl M. Spurrier
Sheryl “Sherri” Marie Spurrier, 29, of Nokesville, left this earth and moved on to her forever home with Christ on Friday, April 14, 2017. Although she lived her life with cerebral palsy, her departure was unexpected and due in part to an infection that had crept its way into her body.
Sherri was always full of smiles and constantly listening in on everyone’s conversations so that she could give her own input. The peculiarities that always caught her attention were wrapped up in these two questions: “What adventures does today hold for me?” and “Was that my name I just heard you mention?”. Her infectious laughter could brighten any room and her radiant smile could give you an answer without one single word being spoken. Sherri was a graduate of Osborne Park High School and a member of Hatcher’s Memorial Baptist Church. She had played for several years in the Little League Challengers.
Sherri is survived by her parents, Robert “Bob” and Beverly “Bev” Gaddis Spurrier, who lovingly cared for her from her first smile to her passing. Her siblings, Amy Van Goethem and Mark, David and Amanda “Mandy” Spurrier and her grandfather, Donald Spurrier, eagerly await their reunion in heaven. Sherri’s presence here on earth will be sorely missed but wondrous thoughts abound of her running through streets of gold and singing sweet melodies into the ears of Jesus.
The family will receive friends at Hatcher’s Memorial Baptist Church on Friday, April 21, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, at Pierce Funeral Home. Interment will be at Quantico National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to CareNet Pregnancy Resource Centers, PO Box 2040, Manassas, Virginia, 20108.
