Manassas officials on curbside painting flier: It’s not ours

MANASSAS, Va. — Having your address painted on your might make it easier for the pizza delivery man to find your home.

But Manassas City officials told residents it is not something they require.

A pink flier that appeared in some city neighborhoods this week had some residents confused. Was the city requiring them to pay to have their addresses painted on the curb?

No, said Patty Prince, city spokeswoman.

From Prince:

“We started getting complaints from residents both that they didn’t want it or that we missed their house at the beginning of the week.  Not sure what neighborhoods were affected but the one I put on Facebook was from our City Clerk who had taken it from her own yard.”

We called the phone number on the flier to speak to the owner of the curb painting business. He has yet to return our call.
