A new memorial will honor a long-serving Prince William County Public Library Supervisor.Meredith Sue Thybony Murphree, Gainesville Neighborhood Library Supervisor, began her career with the Prince William Public Library System in December 1983 as a part-time circulation assistant at Central Library. Meredith worked briefly as a data entry clerk in Technical Services before being promoted to Gainesville Neighborhood Library Supervisor in 1986. Meredith was instrumental in the opening of the fifth neighborhood library which took place on May 16, 1987 and served as its manager for 26 years until December 2013.A memorial area will be dedicated at Haymarket Gainesville Community Library to honor Meredith’s many years of service to the Haymarket Gainesville community. Please join us for a short program prior to the Library Board of Trustees’ August meeting. This memorial area was provided by a memorial fund for Meredith; thank you to all of the contributors that made this a reality.
