A major line of thunderstorms rolled through the region tonight packing strong wind gusts, lots lightning, and torrential rains.
Here’s the scene outside of a Walmart in North Stafford about 8:30 p.m.
It was difficult to drive during storm. We saw debris on the roadway.
The severe thunderstorm watch put in place Thursday afternoon by the National Weather Service expired at 10 p.m.

This was on top of tornado warnings that were issued earlier in the evening.
Dominion reported more than 700 customers without power in Prince William and more than 4,000 in the dark in Stafford. NOVEC reported 55 customers without power in Prince William.
At 9:30 p.m., fire and rescue crews in Prince William County were called to a report of a building collapse at 8640 Cobb Road near Manassas. We don’t have any information on this? Did you see what happened?
Fire and rescue crews were called about 10:15 p.m. to a home near the intersection of Kentucky Avenue and Featherstone Road in Woodbridge. A lightning strike hit some trees, which hit a power line and started a fire. Aside from the downed power line and trees, there was little damage and no injuries.
Overall, the storm brought a lot of rain.
