Susan Edwards is running for a seat on the Haymarket Town Council.

Voters will head to the polls on May 3, 2016, for a General Election for Haymarket Town Council. Edwards is one of eight candidates seeking a seat on Town Council, including incumbent Mayor David Leake.

PL: Why should Haymarket residents be excited to vote for you?

Edwards:I take ownership of the advancement of Haymarket and listen to views of the residents.

PL: In your own words, what is the job description of a Town Council member? What expertise will you bring to the position?

Edwards: A council member should guide the town and carry out the wishes and visions of the residents.

PL: What are the biggest issues and needs residents of the Town of Haymarket? What will you do to address those needs?

Edwards: Town park; continuing to sharpen our professional image.

PL: Have you ever made any mistakes in your public life? How have they affected you?

Edwards: We are all human and do the best we can with the information we are given.

PL: Do you feel that the average citizen is well informed and understands the workings of town government? If not, how do you intend on improving communication with your constituency?

Edwards: For the most part I feel that the residents are well informed, however, I would like to make access to information on Town projects more readily accessible through our website.
