At Home to open at old Kmart building in Dale City

Home decor retailer At Home will fill a space vacated by Kmart in 2014.

Renovation work on the large retail space near the intersection of Dale Boulevard and Interstate is underway. The new 92,000-square foot store will be the second to open in Prince William County, following the opening of an At Home at Manassas Mall last year.

Twenty five people will be hired before the store opens later this summer, according to a company spokeswoman.

In addition to home decor, the store sells an assortment of patio furniture, kitchenware, and bed and bath items.

The new Dale City location will be fourth in Virginia, following stores near Manassas, Richmond, and two outside Richmond.

The old Kmart building which At Home will occupy was built in 1980, pre-dating Potomac Mills mall by five years.
