The Manassas Park Community Center wants to give one lucky mom a makeover to remember this year.
Deb Vaughn will give a statement necklace from Stella and Dot.
Stella and Dot, is a social selling company that creates flexible entrepreneurial opportunities for women. Our boutique-style jewelry and accessories line is available exclusively through in-home and online Trunk Shows by Independent Stylists. Our one of a kind collections are designed by celebrated New York designers and featured in television shows, in fashion magazines, and seen on the wrists and necklines of today’s hottest celebrities. We make great style attainable and affordable.
MPCC: What makes your business unique?Â
DV: In addition to beautiful jewelry and accessories, Stella & Dot gives every woman the means to style her own life, through creating a business. I sell great jewelry and accessories but at the core of Stella & Dot is our people. I am part of a community of women who uses the business opportunity to support their families and earn extra income. We support each other and cheer each otherâs successes, all while having fun with style and jewelry.
MPCC: Why do you think customers choose you and your business?
DV: I provide personal service. It’s the kind of service that I’ve always wanted but rarely see anymore. I get to know my customers, their personal style and can help them find a special piece or even update their wardrobe. I truly appreciate their patronage.
MPCC: What is your favorite Motherâs Day memory?
DV: When I was a young girl, I entered a drawing contest for Mother’s Day. Kids were asked to draw a picture that showed why their mom was great. I won for my age group and won a new blender for my Mom. I remember how proud she was of me and I loved giving her a present that I’d won for her.
MPCC: What drew you to donating to the Motherâs Day Makeover Contest?
DV: I love supporting our community and think that families of all types are the core of what makes a community great. Supporting this contest with my business is a way to give back and honor mothers in our community.
MPCC: Why do you think being involved in the community is important for business owners??
DV: Business owners are first and foremost community members. Many small business owners live and work in the same community. We provide goods and services to our communities but also provide career opportunities. As community members we have a personal and business interest in ensuring our community thrives.
MPCC: What are other causes and non-profits you support?
DV: The Stella & Dot Foundation was established by Stella & Dot in 2010 to engage and inspire our community to affect positive change in the lives of women and their families. In addition to our support of our year-round global charity partner, Every Mother Counts, Stella & Dot also donates to Autism Awareness Month in April, Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, and supports military families through our Buy One, Gift One program in November. To date, the Stella & Dot Foundation has donated over $2 million worldwide to causes important to our community. Together, through the donations made possible by the sale of our foundation accessories, our collective small acts add up to make a big impact.
