On Saturday, May 14, 2016, the Town of Dumfries will be hosting its Annual Multicultural Festival in Garrison Park, located behind Town Hall at 17755 Main Street in Dumfries. The Festival will kick off at 11 a.m. and run until 4Â p.m.
This FREE event will be fun for the whole family and will feature live performances, music, vendors, food, face painting, a bounce house, and more! The festival will once again host the “Dumfries Bar-B-Que Battle” and will allow festival goers to sample each participating vendor’s entry before casting their vote to name the winner.
The Towns goal is to “incorporate as many cultures as possible into this event as we realize the vast diversity in our community and would like to provide a place for individuals to celebrate their heritage while also educating others”, said Dumfries Director of Community Services, Brittany Heine.
The Town is currently seeking vendors, crafters, groups, and artists to participate in this year’s festival in order to bring awareness of their culture through their food, educational materials, artistic works, or performances.
