Call to Action: Brain Injury Services is looking for PALS

Good morning  – The Treatment Foster Care Program is looking for 10 very special families to open their homes to abused or neglected children. The National Counseling Group will provide training to families so they are able to provide a safe and lovely home for the kids. · Here’s a huge Cheers to our RSVP volunteer Driver Bruce Wood for being named The Daily Point of Light Award winner for Thursday February 25th. Bruce is an active VETS driver, providing a ride for veterans and their spouses to a doctor’s appointment. Thank you Bruce!

· Volunteer Prince William is pleased to schedule our next Volunteer Management Training Series beginning September 14th through October 19th. Come broaden and tune your skill set with these once a week trainings over 5 weeks. Please call Shelley for more info at (703) 369-5292 ext. 0

· Trust Annual Park Clean-up Day at Bristoe Station Battlefield. The event is Saturday April 2nd 8am-12 noon. Come maintain, restore and preserve this little jewel. Duties include litter pick up, trail maintenance, cleaning the cemetery throughout the 140 acre park. Wear sturdy work shoes, bring gloves and don’t forget the sunscreen. Tools and snacks provided, please no pets. Meet at the parking lot off of Iron Brigade Unit Ave. Call Bill at (703) 366-3049 with any questions.

· Catholic Charities –Hogar Immigrant Services has an urgent need for ESOL teachers for the classes in Manassas. You don’t need teaching experience or speak another language to make a huge difference in the life of another. Please call Cynthia at (571) 208-1572 ext. 103 to join this great team.

· Leesylvania State Park is looking for volunteers to stuff Easter Eggs on Saturday March 19th from 11am-2pm and the following Saturday from 10am-1pm to hide all the 3,000+ eggs for the Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Super fun! Come as you are or call Sarah at (703) 583-6904 for more info.

· Project Mend a House is looking for volunteers for their Spring into Health fair on April 9th from 10am to 2pm. They are also seeking support in providing a new roof for a local Vietnam veteran. · Contract Solutions Inc. supports homeless individuals through their Hope in a Bag program. They are looking for partners in the community to help them provide little basics in a bag. This is a wonderful opportunity for scouts, teams or families to gather socks, snacks, granola bars, personal toiletry items and a positive message to these folks. This program runs through March.
