Ruth Anderson will hold a town hall meeting Monday night after a series of written threats appeared at area high schools.
The threats appeared on bathroom walls and Woodbridge, Gar-Field and Forest Park senior high schools in Woodbridge this month. All five messages that have appeared are similar and do not reference a credible threat.
Here’s more from Prince William police:
We understand that although non-credible, these threats have caused concerns with parents due to rumors of these threats circulating on social media.
The police department has dedicated resources to investigate these messages and has increased officer presence at the schools, simply as a precaution.
School officials are more closely monitoring activity around bathroom areas. It appears these threats have been done to disrupt school functions and garner attention.
Rumors Unfounded-No Known Danger at Forest Park HS-Despite rumors, police know of no threats or danger. Concerns unwarranted.

Anderson, the newly installed Prince William Occoquan District Supervisors, will hold her meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, at 12351 All Saints Place in Lake Ridge.
The meeting is in response to the “many of you have reached out to our office seeking answers,” Anderson stated in an email to constituents.
Police are scheduled to be at the meeting to answer questions.
More from Prince William police:
The police department is fully investigating these matters, and we take even false threats very seriously. Whoever posted these messages could be subject to potential felony criminal charges, in addition to possible school-related discipline.
It is imperative that parents speak to their teens about the seriousness of making these threats, and the potential repercussions on their future, especially in today’s environment when we see horrific attacks all around the world.
We continue to work closely with Prince William County Schools to ensure the safety of students, faculty, and staff.
