David F. McDonald, 73, of Woodbridge, VA passed away on November 13, 2015.
He was born in Boston on August 1, 1942 to the late Francis and Mary McDonald and graduated from Northeastern University. David is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Frances McDonald; three daughters: Patricia McDonald and husband, Matt Davis; Caroline Green and husband, Bill; and Michelle Wolfarth and husband, Ron; one son, Matthew McDonald and wife, Jennifer; one sister, Ann Cronin and husband, Jerry; nine loving grandchildren, and his faithful companion, Harry.
David served as an U.S. Army Infantry Officer for 23 years in combat units and the Office of Secretary of Defense and retired honorably as Lieutenant Colonel. He fought in the Vietnam War (1967), for which he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal with V Device for Valor, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation with Palm; he also served in Korea (1972-1973).
His other honors include: Combat Infantryman Badge, Parachutist Badge, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Forces Expeditionary Medal, and Armed Forces Reserved Medal. He later worked as a Vice-President for CALIBRE Systems, Inc. in Alexandria and recently a volunteer trustee of the VFW Post 7916 in Occoquan, VA.
A loyal member of the Red Sox Nation, he was thrilled to witness the end of the “Curse of the Bambino” in 2004.
David’s family will receive relatives and friends at his viewing at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd, Dale City VA 22193 on Sunday, November 22, 2015 from 3-5pm and the memorial service on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle VA. In lieu of flowers, his family requests contributions in his memory to a local ASPCA or the VFW, Occoquan, VA.

A Manassas man was sentenced today to 18 years in prison for providing drugs and alcohol to a child in exchange for sex acts and possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) depicting the same victim as well as other children.
According to court documents, Olajide Benjamin Ayilaran, 24, met a 14-year-old girl during the summer of 2023 and began communicating with the victim via iMessage. In the messages, Ayilaran offered to provide the victim drugs, alcohol, and nicotine products in exchange for sex acts. Between at least Nov. 21, 2023, and Feb. 29, 2024, Ayilaran met the victim nine times, usually in the morning before the victim went to school, to exchange the products for sexual acts. Ayilaran would wait for the victim in his car in a nearby park. When the victim arrived, he gave her the drugs and alcohol and then had the victim perform sex acts on him in the car.
