The Occoquan District Boy Scouts need your help to feed people in need this season.
The district and the Boy Scouts National Capital Area Council are hosting their annual Scouting for Food collection drive. Local Scout units will be distributing plastic bags to homes across the region and return to pick up the bags, now filled with food, one week later.
Collected food is distributed to needy families throughout the communities of the Council. Scouting for Food Dates: Saturday November 7, 2015 – Bag Distribution Saturday November 14, 2015 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Bag Collection
“I am thankful for the overwhelming response of residents that gave to this effort. Scouts collected over 45,000 pounds of food that went to ACTS and other local food banks. Over 70 Packs, Troops, Teams, and Crews participate in this last year’s Scouting for Food Campaign in the Occoquan District,” said Scouting for Food Coordinator Marla Deem.
