4 nabbed, 5th wanted in Gainesville murder

Police arrested four people and are searching for a fifth in connection to a fatal shooting in Gainesville on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015

Murder Investigation *ARRESTS – Between September 14th and 15th, detectives from the Homicide Unit made several arrests in connection to the murder of Claude JACKSON III which occurred in the area of Old Linton Hall Rd and Charis Ave in Gainesville on September 12th.

The investigation revealed that an altercation occurred in the parking lot of a nearby shopping center between the three victims and the suspects. During that altercation, shots were fired and the three victims were struck. As a result of the shooting, Claude Jackson was killed and a second victim was critically wounded. This encounter was quickly determined to be between known acquaintances and was later connected to a verbal altercation between the men which occurred the week prior at an establishment in Chantilly.

After the extensive investigation, detectives obtained warrants for the arrests of five suspects involved, four of which are in police custody. The fifth suspect, identified as Alvin JONES, remains wanted and should be considered armed and dangerous. Charged with murder and aggravated malicious wounding

Charged with murder, felony assault by mob, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

 

Derrick Nathaniel JONES, 26, of 8637 Sumter Ct in Manassas Park

Charged with accessory to murder and felony assault by mob

 

David Lennel BROADNAX, 31, of 9590 Covington Pl in Manassas

Charged with accessory to murder and felony assault by mob
