On Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration, Partners on Aging-TRIAD, and the Stafford Hospital Center will hold a National Drug Take Back Initiative. Â
The National Take Back Initiative is a collaborative effort focused on removing potentially dangerous controlled substances from medicine cabinets all over the country. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., citizens may drop off expired, unwanted or unused pharmaceutical controlled or non-controlled substances and other medications to Stafford deputies for destruction at the Stafford Hospital Center, located at 101 Hospital Center Blvd. in Stafford. Â
Citizens can drive up to the drop off site and simply dump the medications directly into the disposal box, never having to leave their car. This method of destroying unwanted medications is safer for citizens and better for the environment.
