First an Acura slammed into the front of a seven eleven store about noon on Tuesday.

Fire and rescue crews rushed to the store at the intersection of Route 1 and Blackburn Road in Woodbridge.

No one was injured in the crash.

A tactical rescue team was sent to the scene. Officials said there was no sign of structural damage to the store.

Changes are coming for two intersections on Interstate 95 — one in Fredericksburg and the other in south Stafford County.

An acceleration lane at for drivers entering I-95 from route three will be extended at mile post 130 in Fredericksburg. The extended lane will give drivers more time to merge onto the highway.

In south Stafford, an acceleration lane for drivers entering I-95 south from Route 17 will be extended south to the Rappahannock River bridge.

The Town of Dumfries Police Department just wrapped up their fifth Kids Academy.

The goal of the program is to let children connect with police officers in a safe environment. This year’s academy also included demonstrations and presentations from the Prince William County Police Department K9, SWAT, and Motor units.

The children also served “Junior Detectives” and worked a mock crime scene.

The Kids Academy was held at the Dumfries-Triangle Rescue Station 3.
