There have been multiple instances of armed robberies and a carjacking of pizza deliverymen in Woodbridge and Manassas this week.
Armed robbery, carjacking in Manassas
On June 24, Prince William police responded to Saint Croix Lane in Manassas to investigate a robbery.
According to Prince William police, the victim – a 29-year old man – reported to police that he was delivering a pizza when he was flagged down by an individual. The victim stated that the individual said they were the ones that had called for the pizza and they were waiting on a friend to bring the money.
During the incident, another individual approached the victim, displaying a weapon and ordering the victim to the ground, according to Prince William police.
When the victim was on the ground, the two individuals took money, the pizza, a cell phone and car keys, before getting into the victim’s car and fleeing the area, stated Prince William police. Another suspect fled on foot.
No one was injured.
Prince William police found the victim’s car in a nearby parking lot. When an officer approached the vehicle, one of the individuals jumped from the driver’s seat and fled on foot. A K-9 unit and helicopter were used to search for the individual and he was located and arrested.
The other suspect has not been located. The victim’s vehicle was not damaged and was returned.
The individual arrested was a 16-year old male juvenile. He has been charged with robbery, carjacking, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, conspiracy to commit a felony and possession of stolen property.
The wanted individual is described as a black male, between 15 and 19 years old, 6’1” with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a red shirt, gray basketball shorts and a ski mask.
Armed robbery in Woodbridge
On the evening of June 23, Prince William police responded to a call on Kempair Court in Woodbridge to investigate a robbery.
According to Prince William police, the victim – a 25-year old Woodbridge man – told officers he was delivering a pizza to a home that was determined to be vacant.
Once the victim arrived at the home, he was approached by a group of men, stated Prince William police.
One of the men – 18-year old John Harper – displayed a handgun and robbed the victim of money and the pizzas, according to Prince William police.
No one was injured during the robbery.
A K-9 unit was used to search for the individuals, and officers located several suspects at a nearby home.
A Prince William police investigation showed that Harper and other individuals went to the vacant home with the intention of robbing the victim. Additionally, detectives discovered that four additional juveniles were involved with the robbery.
Seven suspects were arrested by Prince William police. Harper attempted to flee from a police cruiser outside of the Garfield Station, but was caught by officers.
Harper has been charged with robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, conspiracy to commit a felony and escape without force.
A 14-year old juvenile and a 16-year old juvenile have been charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony.
Additionally, a 13-year old, two 16-year olds and a 15-year old juvenile have been charged with conspiracy to commit a felony.
