At their meeting on Wednesday, June 10, the Stafford County School Board approved the appointment of a three administrators. The following individuals were appointed:
George Hummer was selected as the Supervisor of Student Services. He has been an educator for ten years, beginning his career as a teacher in Spotsylvania County. In 2012, Mr. Hummer was appointed as an assistant principal at Rodney Thompson Middle School. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Radford University with concentrations in chemistry, math and education. He holds a Master’s of Art in Special Education and another in Educational Leadership from the University of Mary Washington.
The Stafford County School Board appointed Christopher A. Lewis as an assistant principal at T. Benton Gayle Middle School. He began his career as an educator teaching private school in Detroit, Michigan. Since 2004 he has taught at Fairfield Middle School in Henrico County. He is currently in administration support at Fairfield Middle School in Henrico County Public Schools. Mr. Lewis earned a Bachelor of Arts Interdisciplinary Studies from Lane College in Tennessee and earned a Master’s of Arts in Education from Central Michigan University. He earned certification in education administration and supervision from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Barry Sudduth, current Director of Pupil Transportation for Stafford County Public Schools, has been advanced to the position of Executive Director of Transportation and Fleet Services. He served for eight years as the transportation director for Westmoreland County Schools, two years as supervisor of transportation in Stafford County Public Schools and one year as a bus operations supervisor for Prince William County Schools. He has been director of transportation in Stafford since 2013. Mr. Sudduth is a graduate of Florida State University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Central Michigan University. He is a nationally certified director of pupil transportation, a certified safety seat technician, holds a Virginia State Police motor vehicle inspection license and holds a current Virginia teaching license and CDL.
