Early this morning, Prince William police responded to a call to investigate a stabbing on Bayside Avenue in Woodbridge.
According to Prince William police, the victim, a 28-year old Woodbridge man, and the suspect, 32-year old Neli Bersali Pacheco-Zevala, were involved in a verbal altercation.
The incident escalated, and Pacheco-Zevala stabbed the victim in the stomach with a kitchen knife, said Prince William police.
Prince William police stated that the victim was transported to a hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Pacheco-Zevala is being charged with malicious wounding, and is being held without bond.
