Updated: Woodbridge teen goes missing, last seen this morning

This just in from Prince William police: 

Yaritza Velen Avalos, who was reported as missing and endangered earlier today, has been located and is safe. 

2:08 p.m.

The Prince William County Police Department has issued a release asking for assistance in locating a missing Woodbridge teenager – 16-year old Yaritza Velen Avalos.

Avalos was reported missing this morning. She was last seen around 9:30 a.m. at the Sheetz location in Woodbridge. 

She is 5’3”, 125 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and glasses and was seen wearing a green sweater and black jeans.

According to release, she appeared to have left the location voluntarily. She may need help, and is being qualified as endangered.

*MISSING ENDANGERED JUVENILE: The Prince William County Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing, endangered juvenile. The caller reported to police that Yaritza Velen Avalos, age 16, was last seen this morning around 9:30AM leaving the Sheetz convenience store located in Woodbridge. Yaritza is believed to have left this establishment voluntarily and may be in need of assistance which qualifies her as being endangered. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call police at 703-792-6500. 

Yaritza Velen Avalos is described as a Hispanic female, 5’3″, 125lbs with a thin build, black hair, brown eyes and prescription glasses 

Last seen wearing a green sweater, black jeans, black hat and possible either black boots or white tennis shoes
