A woman walking in the parking lot said a man came up from behind her, grouped her buttocks, and then tried to steal her purse.

Attempted Robbery
At approximately 9:20AM on December 8, 2014, Police responded to the area of Portner Ave and Sudley Rd for a report of an attempted robbery that had just occurred. The victim, a 46-year-old female, told officers she was walking along Portner Ave towards Sudley Rd when an unknown male approached her from a back alleyway of Manassas Shopping Center. The suspect groped her buttocks without speaking and attempted to steal her purse, then fled on foot towards the south end of Manassas Shopping Center after the victim spun around and verbally accosted the suspect.
Description of suspect: Medium-skinned black male in his 20s, approximately 5’8”, possible mustache, wearing grey basketball-style shorts, a white hoodie pulled over his hair, and an orange sock on his right foot.
