The 69th Annual Greater Manassas Christmas Parade will kick off at 10 a.m. Saturday.
The parade will stroll along Route 28 into Old Town Manassas where a reviewing stand is located, at Harris Pavilion.
The event is billed as the largest Christmas parade in Northern Virginia. Applications for parade participants had to be filed in October in order to be a part of this year’s parade.
The grand marshal for this year’s parade is outgoing City Council member Steven Randolph. The Woman of the Year is Meg Carrol, of the city police force.
Parade organizers will also honor Navy veteran George Odom.
The parade will run from Mathis Avenue to Sudley Road, and then onto Center Street (Route 28) in Old Town Manassas, then ending on Lee Avenue. Several street closures are planned. Handicap parking is available at the BB&T Bank parking lot in Old Town Manassas.
