· Ho, Ho, Ho – Christmas is right around the corner and we are in full swing with our Un Trim A Tree Holiday Gift Program for needy kids. If you would like to sponsor a child at Christmas I can provide you their name, age and two toy wishes so you can be a special Santa to a kid. · Neighbor’s Keeper is looking for a volunteer to help with media relations, website posting and capturing success stories. Sounds like a super fun job for about 10 hours a week. Please email Rich at: [email protected] for more info.
· The RSVP Program is looking for a volunteer driver to take a woman from her home in Gainesville to the VA Center in DC once or twice a month. It’s a great opportunity to thanks her for her service. Volunteers must be at least age 55 for the insurance policy to cover you and have a good driving record. Please call Coleen at (571) 292-5307 for more info. She also needs reading tutors at Tyler Elementary School in Gainesville.
· SERVE in Manassas continues to have an urgent need for volunteers to do food pickups at local grocery stores on weekday mornings. Volunteers must be at least 21, have a good driving record and be able to lift boxes that could weigh up to 50 lbs. Training is provided and you drive their van.
