A high school football game between two Stafford County teams is canceled.
Players from Brooke Point High School will not face off against North Stafford as as was previously scheduled tonight. The cancelation comes just days after WTTG-TV in Washington posted a story about varsity football player who passed out in the team locker room and hit his head after he and another player engaged in a “choking game.”
The player sought medical treatment after he regained consciousness and is now OK.
Stafford County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Bill Kennedy said authorities are now looking into the incident.
So far, school officials have not issued a statement about the incident or the sheriff’s department’s investigation. A series of robo calls placed by the school Thursday night notified parents about the cancelation of the game.
