DALE CITY, Va. - On October 2, a 911 caller told police that they saw a couple, who appeared to be intoxicated, leave a local Petco with a small child. The couple left before police arrived and upon arrival to a home, officers found the suspect intoxicated and in the driver's seat of the car, as well as a 15-month-old boy, who police say was unharmed.

Felony Child Neglect – On October 2nd at 4:08PM, officers responded to the 14300 block of Westminster Ln in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a child neglect call. The caller reported to police that man and woman were believed to be impaired inside the Petco located in the Cheshire Station Plaza. There was also a small child in their care while inside the store. The couple left the plaza prior to police arriving in the area. The caller was able to obtain a license plate number which lead them to a residence in the above area. Once at the home, officers located the vehicle and the accused who appeared to be under the influence and in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. The child, identified as a 15 month old boy, was also located and appeared unharmed. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.
