WOODBRIDGE, Va. –Â On August 21, a 53-year-old man was struck in the head with a stick by a male suspect. According to reports, the victim was assaulted by the suspect after trying to intervene in an argument and once the suspect was found, police arrested him.Â
Here’s the latest from Prince William police:
Malicious Wounding – On August 21st at 12:49AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 12700 block of Cara Dr in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 53 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that another resident of the home was to the rear of the residence talking with a group of known acquaintances. The encounter escalated and the victim attempted to intervene. During the altercation, one of the individuals in the group, later identified as the accused, picked up a stick and struck the victim in the head. The group eventually dispersed and police were contacted. Non-life threatening injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects involved. An officer checking nearby business located the accused and detained him without further incident. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.
