WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A recent Virginia Lottery winner says he played his ticket in Woodbridge after he saw another winner from the area.
Here’s what the winner had to say in a press release form the Virginia Lottery:
Andra Alexander won a dandy prize at Handy Dandy Market. The Woodbridge man matched all five numbers in the Virginia Lottery’s Cash 5 game to win the $100,000 top prize.
“I saw that there was a Woodbridge winner and I thought, ‘Hey, I play in Woodbridge!’” he said as he claimed his prize.
Mr. Alexander’s winning ticket matched all five numbers in the July 30 night drawing. Those winning numbers were 3-14-15-25-33. When he saw that he had a winning ticket, he had two friends double-check it, just to be sure.
Handy Dandy Market, where he bought the winning ticket, is located at 13316 Occoquan Road in Woodbridge.
Cash 5 drawings are held daily at 1:59 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. The chances of winning the $100,000 top prize are 1 in 278,256.
