UPDATE 4:30 p.m. – The number of power outages following the severe storm that plowed through western Prince William County and Manassas is on the rise.
Dominion Virginia Power reports more than 1,000 customers without electricity in the Nokesville area. NOVEC reports at least two clusters of power outages in the Nokesville area, each with two five customers without power.

MANASSAS, Va. — The lights are dark in portion of the Manassas area right now as a line of strong thunderstorms move through the area.
A severe thunderstorm warning was issued at 3:45 p.m. for Prince William County, Manassas, and Manassas Park lasting until 4:30 p.m. A line of heavy storms containing heavy winds, lightning, and rain were pushing into the area, according to the National Weather Service.
The storm was headed in the direction of Fairfax County.
Power was knocked out to the office building on Capital Court in Manassas, where the offices of Jewell Technical Consulting and the Prince William Chamber of Commerce are located.
