Obituary for Ruby Griggs Layman
Ruby Griggs Layman, age 92, of Mount Airy, MD, formerly of Woodbridge, VA, passed away on May 16, 2014. Beloved wife of over 70 years to the late Orion R. Layman. Loving mother of Orion “Doug” Layman (Maria), the late Dorothy E. Cornett (Carl) and the late Peggy J. Everitt (Thomas). Cherished grandmother of Eric CD Cornett, Jennifer Everitt and Jessica Everitt. Ruby was predeceased by her siblings; Kitty Briggs, Margaret Johnson and Berkley Griggs. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret Griggs.
Ruby was a devoted member of the Woodbridge Church of the Brethren.
The family will receive friends at the Woodbridge Church of the Brethren, 13300 Millwood Drive, Woodbridge, VA 22191 on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 from 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Fairfax Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Woodbridge Church of the Brethren, www.wcob.org or a charity of the Donor’s Choice.
