Shots were fired near a Metz Middle and Osbourn High schools on Tuesday.

Here’s an unedited report from Manassas police:

Discharging of a Firearm – Arrests

At approximately 9:30AM on May 13, 2014 Manassas City Police responded to the 8700 block of Richmond Ave for a report of shots being fired, which witnesses confirmed when officers arrived on-scene.  Investigators were able to determine that one of the suspects, Bruce LANSDOWN, went to the residence and an altercation ensued, at which time he allegedly brandished a knife.

Rickey LOWE fired several rounds at LANSDOWN, some of which struck surrounding occupied dwellings.  No one was shot and no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.  Both subjects, who are believed to be affiliated with the Bloods criminal street gang, were taken into custody.  LOWE, 23, of 8722 Richmond Ave was charged with discharge of a firearm in a public place in a school zone, reckless handling of a firearm, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, discharge of a firearm at an occupied dwelling, attempted malicious wounding, and gang participation.  LANSDOWN, 42, of 102 Lambert Dr, Manassas Park, VA 20111 was charged with brandishing a bladed weapon, assault, and gang participation.

Both were held without bond and have a pending court date of June 26, 2014.
