Sara (Sally) Lea Henderson Hesket

Sara (Sally) Lea Henderson Heskett, age 67, of Manassas, Virginia passed into the care of her Lord, on March 13, 2014, at Prince William Hospital, with her loving husband, William, watching over her.

Sally was born at home in Oxford (Welchville), Maine on December 17, 1946 to Anna Holt Henderson Woodworth and John Henderson. She attended grade school in Sumner, Maine and graduated from Buckfield High School in Buckfield, Maine, with the class of 1964. Sally completed her nursing training at Rumford Hospital in Rumford, Maine in 1965 and began a career in nursing which continued for over 45 years. She ultimately retired from Prince William Hospital in 2004 after 30 years, but continued to work at various nursing homes as well as providing home health care.

Sally was predeceased by her parents and stepfather Louis Woodworth; a brother Thomas; and her beloved mother-in-law, Patricia J. Heskett, who affectionately referred to Sally as her “golden girl”.

Besides her husband, William, Sally is survived by her brother Fred and his wife Carol, of Greenwood, ME; brother Paul and his wife Louise, of Coventry, CT; brother Quentin and his wife Glenice, of Otisfield, ME; sister Dona Brown and her husband Clyde II, of Sumner, ME; brother Dennis and his wife Nancy, of West Paris, ME; sister Martha Damon and her friend Christopher Tripp, of South Paris, ME; 31 nieces and nephews. Last and certainly not least her Majesty Muffin, the Shiatsu.

Services will be held in Maine, in the spring, at a place and date to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Sally’s memory to the American Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
