Andrew Thomas Burke

Andrew Thomas Burke passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 in Culpeper, Virginia.

Andy was a resident of Culpeper and was employed by the City of Manassas in the maintenance department.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and Blue Grass Gospel music. Andy led a simple life and was a country boy until the end. He had dreams of raising chickens and planting apple trees. He was very content with the basic necessities and enjoyed watching the wildlife at his home as well as listening to the nearby stream, late into the night.

Andy had wonderful dreams of being a husband and a father to his fiancé, Carlye Mauck and her little girl, Sydney. The Saturday before he left this world, Sydney would say dada and he would say yes, baby, then she would say dada again and he would say yes, baby. He had a special place in his heart for Carlye and Sydney that showed when you saw them together. Andy was in the process of preparing his home to welcome his family.

A life cut too short early one morning in our eyes, however, our Lord and Savior saw it fit to take his child home.

Survivors include his mom, Rita Kay Burke and her fiance’ James Stephenson of Culpeper, Virginia; a sister, Kristin Marie Burke and Riley Thomas Burke of Culpeper; one uncle, Jerry Burke of Manassas Park, Virginia; paternal grandparents, Rannie and Shirley Burke of Manassas, Virginia; maternal grandmother, Ruth J Lawson; and his loving fiancé, Carlye Mauck of Manassas, Virginia.

Andy was predeceased by his dad Gregory Thomas Burke and maternal grandfather, Carl W. Lawson.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 31, 2014 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at the Yorkshire Free Will Baptist Church, 7620 Chestnut St. Manassas, Virginia. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary with Pastor Todd Tennant officiating. Interment will follow in Buckhall Cemetery, Moore Dr. Manassas, Virginia. All are invited back to the church for a luncheon.

The family requests that friends wear jeans to the service in memory of Andy.
