MANASSAS, Va. — A teenager was in a back yard with friends when a group of males walked up, started a fight, and stabbed him, police said.

Malicious Wounding
On March 10, 2014 Manassas City Police met with a resident at the Novant Health Medical Center for a report of a stabbing that occurred on the 8900 block of Cherry Tree Ln. According to the victim, a male juvenile, he was with friends in the backyard of his residence at approximately 5:50PM when a group of male juveniles approached. One of the suspects initiated a fight with the victim, during which time the victim was hit in the head with a steering wheel lock and stabbed in the abdomen with a knife. Circumstances of the incident lead investigators to believe the juveniles are known acquaintances and that the incident was not random. This is an ongoing investigation.
