Julia Beverly Green

Julia Beverly Green, 82, of Manassas, passed away January 26, 2014 at the Capital Caring, Halquist Memorial Inpatient Center; Arlington, Virginia.

Born July 19, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Robert Leslie and Ruby White Beverly. On September 6, 1953 in Elizabeth City, N.C., she married Harold Ryland Green, who preceded her in death on April 29, 2010.

Along with her late husband, Mrs. Green was the co-owner and operator of both Gainesville Mobil Service Center and later H & J Service in Scottsville. She was also a member of the James River Baptist Church.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two siblings. Survivors include two sons Harold R. Green, Jr. of Hawaii, and J. Michael Green of Manassas; two daughters, Patricia Herndon and her husband George of Culpeper; Judith Spivey of Manassas; two sisters, Clarene Ritenour of Nokesville; Ernestine Barron and her husband Marshall of Amissville; and one brother, Robert L. Beverly Jr. of Bumpass, VA; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and two friends that were dear to her heart, Steve Urry and John Campbell of Manassas.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 2, 2014 from 2-5 p.m. at the Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas. Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dr. Larry Lee officiating. Interment immediately follow in Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas, VA.

Memorial contributions may take the form of a donation to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandra, Va. 22312.
