A woman took a stolen credit card and gift card to a Best Buy in North Stafford and used them to by a computer.
The computer was purchased Saturday afternoon at a Best Buy in the Stafford Marketplace shopping center. The sales clerk told investigators a woman came in and made two separate purchases using the credit card and gift cards that turned out to be stolen.
Just minutes before the purchases were made at Best Buy, a sheriff’s deputy was called to a Giant Food store on Worth Avenue in Stafford’s Doc Stone shopping plaza where a woman said her credit card had been stolen while shopping inside the store.
That same card is the one that was used at Best Buy. The gift card also used at Best Buy belonged to a Northern Virginia resident who does not live in Stafford County but did report her purse stolen.
The woman swiping the stolen cards is described as 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, 180 pounds, wearing a green coat, red scarf, and a hat.
